"When I saw women abandoned on the streets, suffering without shelter or dignity, I knew I had to act. Dristi is not just a foundation — it is a promise."
— Kalpana Bhatt, Founder & ChairpersonDristi Foundation Nepal was established with a simple but powerful mission: to see (Dristi means 'vision') the invisible — those abandoned by family and society, living without shelter, food, or mental health care on the streets of Sudurpashchim Province.
Based in Basant Tol, Ward No. 5, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, the foundation has grown into one of the region's most recognized social welfare organizations, rescuing over 200 individuals and providing safe shelter to 45+ women at any given time.
Drishti Foundation’s mission is to support the poor, helpless, and those in need by driving the campaign “Let no one go hungry, let every day be sustained.” We are committed to ensuring that every individual has access to basic necessities—food, care, and dignity.
Our vision is to build a society where no one has to suffer from hunger and everyone can live a life with dignity. We aim to promote humanity, equality, and compassion while creating a sustainable and inclusive community for all.
Our values are rooted in humanity, compassion, transparency, responsibility, and equality. We believe in treating every individual with respect, offering selfless support to those in need, and maintaining honesty and openness while fulfilling our responsibility toward society.
Kalpana Bhatt founded Dristi Foundation Nepal after witnessing the silent suffering of homeless women on the streets of Dhangadhi — women abandoned by their families, struggling with untreated mental illness, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to.
Her tireless advocacy has not only built a shelter but has transformed the conversation around mental health in Sudurpashchim Province. Through partnerships with Citizens Bank, local government bodies, and volunteer networks, she has created a sustainable ecosystem of care.
Today, Dristi Foundation is a beacon of hope — a place where the abandoned are welcomed, the unwell are healed, and the forgotten are remembered.
